Scrolling playlists is difficult/slow

Open ZimbiX opened this issue 7 years ago • 2 comments

Hey mate, is this the same version you showed us at the pub? I thought the playlist menu looked different and was an actual scrolling list.

I realise manually syncing Git and Fitbit Studio is annoying. I'm working on something to ease that ;)

Cheers

Hi Brendan,

Hope you are doing well.

This this be the most up-to-date version of the code at this point. I agree that the current playlist picker is too slow to the point of un-usability. This is due to the fact that the current track index is actually stored on the companion and hence requires a round trip from watch to the companion app before the UI is updated.

That said, this should fixable by storing the entire list of playlists and current index on the watch and updating the current index on the watch side synchronously. While then syncing the companion in the background. Will open a PR when I get a chance to work on this.

Thanks

I just upgraded from a Blaze to a Versa and was pleased to see a Spotify app, as I listen to Spotify from the time the water goes on for the first cup of coffee to the lights out at night. The UI is painfully slow and it almost unusable. I saw this post from almost a year ago so I'm now thinking this in not going to be fixed. Please tell me I'll be able to use this app before I retire this Versa in a few years!
