Nether loading performance

Open dnsBlah opened this issue 1 year ago • 5 comments

Hey there, first of all I love your script and I'm using it for a long time already. Stopped playing for a while wince 1.19 something and decided to start again.

On new clean server, world etc. with or without mods I have issues when I go to the nether. It takes a long time to load up and even hogs up 8 of 15 cores. Loading takes about a minute if not longer. I never experienced this before.

Is this known? This has nothing to do with your setup script, but hopefully one can help me out here

If you can provide a bit more detail it would help to identify the issue. Like ur spec, configs like render distance, ticket distance.

Hi @josephvibhu ! I'm running the minecraft server on a local proxmox environment with a standard VM with 16 vCPU's and 16GB RAM running current stable Ubuntu server release. Standard server.properties without any changes. Render distance is 4 chunks by default I believe? No idea about the ticks

The game in general performs perfectly fine, no lag or anything. Just loading up the nether (have not been in the end yet) takes a long time and hogs up all the CPU's

Generally in Bedrock, Dimension loading time is high. But in your case it could be either your world file is corrupted and slow. Or your nether is corrupted and slow. This could only be true if your loading time is significantly higher like 30-60 seconds. Less than that, it's pretty normal for the Bedrock edition. At least that's what I think.

Btw I run my server on Ubuntu Server with Intel 3rd Gen processor, For me I get about 5-10 secs loading time for nether and the end.

The loading times towards the nether is definitely high. Going back to overworld is perfectly fine.

Its a clean VM and only has the server set up through the script. 5-10 seconds indeed is what I'm used to :( Any way to debug/troubleshoot this and find root cause?
