Guaranteed Goron City Spinning Pot
During a past rando, I failed to get the heart piece from the Goron City spinning pot way too many times in a row. I'm sure there is a trick to getting the Spinning Pot on the first try, but I am not experienced enough to guarantee it, and most of the people I do randomizers with are at a similar level of "casual player" as me, so it can sometimes trip them up as well.
I don't know enough about how the game determines the "winning" spinning pot face to know how easy it would be to guarantee the happy face side every time, but, if it would be a straightforward change, it would definitely be an appreciated optimization. I see it in the same vein as first try Dampe or Fishing optimizations, albeit a lesser optimization overall.
I don't know if there would be any gameplay concerns about this optimization. To my knowledge, all of the other faces produce objectively worse rewards than the happy face, so intentionally wanting the other faces seems unlikely. The winning face could become a source of rupee farming... but the Hyrule Castle gate is already a great option for rupee farming, so I don't see that being a major issue either.
the neutral face gives you 3 bomb drops - an extremely easy source of bombs. I wouldn't want to lose those.
Also, to make sure you always get the winning face, just pull and throw a bomb when the neutral face is facing towards you
It is all timing. You just need to learn the timing. We have plenty of resources and people on the Discord that can help you learn consistent strategies.
If there's still interest in this, it should only be applied when the heart piece hasn't been collected yet, so that the bomb drops can still be farmed. It should also be disabled if freestanding rupee shuffle from #1558 is enabled, since that setting essentially makes all 3 faces equally important.
I would want to insist on a setting for something like this. Maybe a 'guaranteed spinning pot' setting with freestanding rupees should actually give you a face you haven't gotten yet on the 2nd and 3rd goes.
