Flycut flashing when on clicking on menu bar app on second monitor

I'm on macOS Catalina 10.15.14.

When I have my macbook plugged into a second monitor and I click on the flycut menu bar app once, it will flash but not open. If I double click it, it opens correctly.

On my main display, clicking the menu bar app once works smoothly and as expected. I've tried installing from the app store and from brew, both exhibit same behavior.

Any advice on how to fix? It's quite annoying to have different behaviors on different screens. Sometimes it's fidigity and doesn't open. All my other menu bar apps are working smoothly.
