Getting player melee hitspheres + dealing player effect damage
I was going to comment further on this in won's issue #323 , but I felt it would be worth putting in its own issue
- We can grab the capsules of entities via Entity:GetCollisionCapsule(), but the special capsules used by melee attacks (Forgotten's Bone Club, T. Lilith's Whip attack) doesn't grab the special capsule that deals damage. The one that appears as a yellow capsule when viewing through debug 6.
- I'm aware we have the ability to spawn capsules, but I think it would be great to have some form of directly dealing/spawning a capsule for dealing player damage alongside naturally triggering tear effects. This is yet again in relation to what Forgotten and T. Lillith spawn for their melee attacks. The closest we have to this would be spawning an invisible knife and controlling when it collides with enemies, but spawning a melee hitsphere that naturally deals player damage and triggers TearFlag effects from the player that spawned it feels like it would be more natural? If not that, then a similar way to do trigger player damage + tear effects without the need of a capsule. If this is too specific to ask for though I completely understand, especially with that whole invisible knife thing available as a valid-ish option.
