Autoplay on iOS Safari PWA does not work

Describe the bug

I'm using https://piped.garudalinux.org/ as Safari PWA on iOS 15.6.1 and the autoplay preference seems to have no effect, it's switched on but videos do not autoplay.

Edit: something changed, now it's only the first video after opening the PWA that doesn't autoplay, after that all videos autoplay correctly. Same things happens again after killing the PWA and restarting.

Edit 2: turning autoplay OFF is also bugged: returning to the same video that did not autoplay on first view autoplays it on subsequent views.
