Remove from Playlist not working on iOS when using "back" button

Open leepfrog-ger opened this issue 3 years ago • 1 comments

Official Instance

Describe the bug

On my iPhone 12 Mini the "-" button to remove a video from a playlist is not working any more after using the "back" button or swipe gesture once. Refreshing the page solves the issue. While in that failed state the "+" button produces the "add video to playlist" dialog as expected.

Happens for me at my private instance as well as on the official instance.

To Reproduce

  1. Login with a user account that has at least one playlist and at least one video added to that playlist
  2. Open the playlist
  3. Click on any video
  4. Wait for the following page to load
  5. Use the "back" button of Safari (or the back swipe)
  6. Try to tap the "-" button to remove the video from the playlist

Nothing happens

Expected behavior

Dialog opens, asking for confirmation to remove the video from the playlist

Logs/Errors

None that I could access on the iPhone

Browser, and OS with Version.

iOS 15 (up to date) with built-in Safari

Additional context

No response

Has nobody else noticed this error? Can I provide any further information to help debug?

I tried it on browserstack, and could reproduce it. It looks like Safari's popup blocker blocks ALL dialogues after navigating back.

I never thought of testing whether this is depending on the blocker settings, thanks for taking the time to look at this!

I know this is due to how the Safari blocker works, but in general would it be an option to make the confirmation dialog for removing an item from the playlist similar to the dialog shown when adding an item to a playlist (not a popup but a dialog rendered over the page)? This works fine in Safari with the blocker enabled.
