Youtube links do not open from the browser in NewPipe after 0.23.1 (Chrome)

Affected version

0.23.1 and higher

Steps to reproduce the bug

  1. Open the google search in the browser (google chrome) at https://google.com enter the query you are looking for on youtube (for example "asterix est la youtube")
  2. Click on the link, select "NewPipe" in the drop-down menu

Expected behavior

NewPipe should open and playback should begin.

Actual behavior

Nothing happens when I click on the youtube link

Not just the browser links, it is not opening for any default links that we have added. It is redirecting back to YouTube again. I have disabled open by default for YouTube and added few YouTube links for Newpipe and turned open by default but it is not working. It has been working fine until yesterday. I am not sure if it is the Newpipe or issue with Android 13 update.

So I tried samsung browser and fenec( fenix firefox fdroid version) both works with 0.23.3, but when I install chrome, it is not working, is newpipe blacklist in chrome?
