Can you please advise on how to build on Linux (ubuntu for that matter), incl PDFIUM.

I've not built on Linux myself. But I think you should just be able to follow the instructions to build PDFium on the PDFium website. After that you should be able to create make files using CMake from the wxPDFView sources.
