Update in the context of multi Episode files

My daughters watch Grey's anatomy and the collection of episodes (stored with Plex as the primary way to consume the media) I have, includes several files that are "multi episode files".

For example this: Grey's Anatomy - S06E01-E02 - Good Mourning & Goodbye.mkv

I don't watch this myself but I assume they have a double episode to kickstart a new season as these double episodes seem to be E01 and E02 of a few seasons.

In the scenario of adding data, and where I have never version (say from SD to HD) of the S06E01, then overwriting the file in the repo will mean that I will lose S06E02 in the process. There must be some sort of special handling of that case so that TV Rename isn't contributing to losing data already in the repo.
