UI element activation order in input field is broken

Open nomike opened this issue 3 years ago • 1 comments

Steps to reproduce:

Works

  1. Attach an external keyboard to your android device.
  2. Open telegram and click into the text input field of a chat window
  3. Hit the tab key -> The camera button is highlighted
  4. Press return -> The camera feature is opened

Broken

  1. Attach an external keyboard to your android device.
  2. Open telegram and click into the text input field of a chat window and type in some text -> The buttons for camera, gallery and voice messages are hidden and the button for sending the message appears.
  3. Hit the tab key -> The camera button is highlighted
  4. Press return -> The camera feature is opened even though I would expect the message to be sent.

Furthermore it would improve my user experience if I where able to send the message by pressing ctrl+return as it is customary on desktop chat apps.

Another related bug is that I'm unable to highlight the emoticon and the voie message buttons with the tab key.

I believe there should be much more similar issues in the app, as the hotkey navigation with the remote keyboard in Telegram X was never tested at all. You can use this issue to collect whatever other related problems you (or anyone else) will find.
