Please can i get the Source Code of Syn.Speech
We are currently having discussions with the lead architect Leslie Timmy, to check if he is planning to make the source code public under any open source license. Unless-untill we hear from him we cannot make any code available online.
Any updates on that matter? It somewhat seems like the library is dead (the nuget package was updated in 2015), which is not a good thing, open-sourcing it would guarantee its live, plus, probably, allow for .NET Core 2.0 port to be created. Btw, do you have any info on whether a possibility of such port is discussed?
Given that you're not obfuscating your library dll and anyone can, technically, disassemble it in under a minute to see the sources (that's probably illegal? I'm not sure, but the possibility is there still), maybe officially open-sourcing it would be a good idea? Given that it's the only adequate solution for speech recognition in pure C# I could see it possibly attracting some members of the community and be updated and so on. It seems like with a proper license you would still be able to profit from your work, just like Unreal Engine and other commercialized open source projects.
Appreciate the suggestion. The project wasn't part of Syn Team but was something I worked upon during my free time and let Syn shelter its deployment.
Since I couldn't pay much heed to the project it has stayed dormant for a while. Profiting from the project was never considered as I had given the rights to Syn under the condition that no licenses were sold for it after a certain period and the framework was made freely available.
If all goes well I shall get the project open-sourced by Syn this week.
A familiar story, I must say :D I hope it really does, thanks for an answer and this library!
