In that case, have you tinkered with: - any of the **Color** values in Sumatra's [settings](https://www.sumatrapdfreader.org/settings.html), especially **BackgroundColor**? - the **Page Background** color in Adobe Reader's settings?  Another thing...

@StevenLi-DS: So _any_ change you make to SumatraPDF-settings.txt is getting reverted? Are you sure you have the necessary permissions to edit that file?
