Window shutter not working as intended/expected

I was trying to build a small room to put my Icebox in, when it came to mind I could use the shutters as a door. I placed 2 docks pillar per side and the 2 shutters as in the image, but I wasn't able to open them ( I don't know if window shutters are intended as cosmetic only and don't have any functionality, but looking at the ghost block it clearly shows the same green box that are also in front of the door).
