Buildings have a floating appearance

Open sekerob opened this issue 2 years ago • 4 comments

As commented in the announcement thread at the OSM community forum, buildings seem to hover over the ground, noted was on a pedestrian area. This seems to be a more wider showing phenomena, most pronouncedly appearing in the image below with the power substation at left.

Hi, can you please provide a link to the location where you observe this problem?

The requested link, https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/1168264943

This one to the substation service building. All buildings here were mapped in the last 48 hours, but for the odd float shading, roofs look good to include gabled roofs where the estimated height was added as found that roof:angle did not seem to do anything. The building somewhat north with the dome also had roof:height added and nolonger appears as a conehead, which is great.

OT The subsatation is where the powerlines connect at ground level. Did try by adding a height tag to the terminal nodes, connect slightly below the roof rim but had no effect.
