Skycultures: Visually distinguishing different categories of constellations

Open alex-w opened this issue 7 years ago • 1 comments

Original report by vishvAs vAsuki: https://bugs.launchpad.net/stellarium/+bug/1712916

Constellations are not all the same - for example, in Indian skyculture, we want to distinguish raashi-s from nakShatra-s (From https://bugs.launchpad.net/stellarium/+bug/1712641 , we see that both of these are constellations) and others may want to distinguish zodiac constellations from others. As it is one observes hacks such as adding parantheses or flower brackets in the names. Skyculture creators should have the facility for specifying this distinction.

(Possible implementation, where specification is concerned: separate file, or an optional field in constellationship.fab. Possible ideas for visual discrimination: a handful of different colors or underlines.)

This is a good task for the community to participate in the contribution into Stellarium. Who wants to help us?
