[Feature Request] Picture in Picture Mode

Suggesting a Picture in Picture mode, Example:

Navigate to a photo, click PiP, shrinks to a PiP and brings you to your homescreen, you can navigate to any app while looking at the picture.

Also suggesting this be added as an option for slideshows, so you can run a slideshow in PiP mode.

PiP would be borderless ideally, and resizeable by pinching.

Any news regarding this Feature Request? Was about to make one for videos, and also play in background, or while screen is locked/off.

Still interested as well, although your request may be better suited as a new issue because PiP is not exactly the same

It is really essential for videos! I followed some simple guide (blog.logrocket.com/implementing-picture-in-picture-mode-android/) and i got it almost working despite of me being a total noob but the video is pausing when it enter in pip mode, any idea what's going on? that's kinda sad i feel like there is not much to do to get it fully working...
