Allow Accessing Voicemail Box from the Dialer Numpad
So, in the numpad of the stock dialer app (Phone by Google), when you long press "1", it allows you to call your voicemail box.
I was wondering perhaps this could be a pretty standard and useful feature for Simple Dialer too?
By the way, is there currently any way to call the voicemail box within the app (other than clicking on the Android notification, which is outside of the app)?
In fact you can currently associate a contact with dialing button # 1. So a solution would be to record the voicemail's dialing number in your contacts and associate it.
But I see 2 limits to this:
- If you use 2 SIM cards in the phone, it seems that you can't call the voicemail with SIM 2 as the long press on a button directly calls using SIM 1. (And even if it would works, you'd have to use 2 different buttons to choose if you call the voicemail of the provider of SIM 1 or SIM 2, that have generally different voicemail's dialing numbers.)
- Unlike the Google dialer, the dialing pad doesn't automatically opens during the call to the voicemail. It would be useful to have this behavior and not to be forced to tap the "dialing pad" button during the call, as a voicemail generally requires to use it in order to navigate in the messages and to perform actions on them.
