App hangs with large contact list

I have over 1000 contacts synced via DAVx5 and the Simple Contacts app really struggles to keep up.

Doing a fresh open, editing a contact, managing groupings, and marking favourites each takes upwards of 5 seconds. About once every 10 or 20 such operations, the app crashes.

I haven't looked through the code, but could it perhaps be an inefficient List widget? Or is there some linear-time operation that runs after every single-contact edit?

What app version you mean at all?

Version 6.14.0. Just checked and I can confirm the behaviour is the same in 6.14.1.

so whenever you edit a contact, it takes a few seconds for it to be saved? Does the initial app screen with contacts show up quickly?
