Open enderdude77 opened this issue 4 months ago • 7 comments

General

  • Pragma Version 1.3.0

Describe the bug On the Linux version of release 1.3.0, if I launch either PFM or Pragma it just launches to a black screen and closes after a few seconds.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Be using arch linux/endeavourOS
  2. Download the v1.3.0 release from the releases page
  3. Unzip it
  4. Run either PFM or Pragma
  5. Observe that the screen in thew window stays black and closes after a few seconds.

Expected behavior The program to launch and function properly

Hardware (please complete the following information):

  • OS: EndeavourOS
  • GPU: RTX 3050
  • GPU Driver version: 580.82.09-7

Log I'm not sure how helpful the log will be because it cuts off mid launch but the fact it doesn't provide any error messages leads me to believe it is not a dependency issue. log.txt

Hey, thanks for the report! Linux support is relatively new, can you try and see if the preview release works for you? https://github.com/Silverlan/pragma/releases/tag/nightly

Thank you for getting back to me. I tried the release that you sent me and it still didn't work. I have attached a screenshot of the error message and the crashdump.

Thanks, that helps! Looks like an issue with Wayland. I added native Wayland support recently, but I've only tested it on Ubuntu so far. I've never used endeavourOS, is there a simple way to switch to X11? If so, could you please try that and check if it works?

Otherwise, could you try running with the launch option "-wayland_libdecor_plugin gtk" (while on wayland) and see if that makes a difference?

I'll switch to x11 just to see if it works. If x11 does not work then I'll try the second method you mentioned. Also for future information, endeavourOS is basically arch with an easier installer.

Both of those made it work flawlessly. Thank you very much your software looks amazing

I just noticed that it is in super low resolution as soon as I enter fullscreen. Would it be better if I opened up another issue or that we just solve it here?

Thank you, and thanks for confirming! I'm actually gonna re-open the issue though, since having to use a launch option is just a work-around. I'll try and get it fixed proper for the next major update though.

Preferably a new issue, that makes it easier for me to keep track of it. :) Thanks!
