Maintainers should consider seriously giving the project to someone who has time to maintain it

What a pitty state for the SharMap project. Even the most basic examples fail to execute. The wiki help has nothing to do with v1.2. The SharMap project went through so many public API changes that it is unrecognisable to old users. The problem is there is no help at all and it seems maintainers do not really have the time any more to deal with the project. Isn't it time to advertise for a maintainer with time?

I agree, but I don't see any volunteer.

This library is being used in many serious projects where mapping is essential. In some cases, the project is being forked and maintained within that scope. I would volunteer to maintain parts of the code as we also still actively used it anyways.

It requires updates to support cross-platform.

That is great @SKO85. I appreciate that.

Too bad, that people who use the project in this way don't reach out to share their modifications, enhancements or fixes via PR's. That would be the way to go.
