After network was down, web assets still do not display

Open qbicdesign opened this issue 4 years ago • 2 comments

Overview of the Issue

I have web based assets which run for 10 minutes before they are reloaded, the intention being to keep the content up to date. However, if the network is down temporarily at the moment when the reload takes place, an error page is displayed. After the network is restored, the error page remains, even after the time when asset should be reloaded again. I have to reboot the raspberries to get the asset to display again. I have over 10 infoscreens

Reproduction Steps

Steps to reproduce this issue, eg:

  • Press Add Asset
  • Enter the Asset URL
  • Set asset duration for 300 seconds
  • Press "On"
  • Wait for the asset to show up on the screen
  • Disconnect network and leave disconnected until the asset reloads with an error page
  • Reconnect the network
  • Wait until next reload should happen
  • The error page remains on screen

Environment

  • Raspberry Pi Hardware Version: Pi4 b
  • Raspberry Pi Network Setup: Ethernet
  • Screenly OSE Version: master@97a0abd

I tested this and did not get these results..

Basically the page just froze at the last asset.. and when i plugged in the cable again it continued with whatever the asset in the playlist was next at that moment after skipping when not available (cable unplugged).
