Translation english -> german character
The english noun 'character' would translate to 'Figur' when related to movies or theater. German 'Character' is a false friend here. Please see and correct #3

The project text is written in US English. You can see this from spelling conventions like flavored (instead of British flavoured) and the overall phrasing.

In English, character is the standard noun for a role in a movie, play, or story.

In German, the equivalent would often be Figur, since Charakter can be misleading in that context. But since the instructions are in US English, character is already correct.
So while the German translation differs, the English usage here is accurate and doesn’t need correction.
