There is another method for status spoofing that can be used to detect attempts to bypass the resource pack. Won't be posting it here but this issue serves as a reminder for me.

it's unfixable, the client unloads whenever it receives a reconfiguration packet. The only way to "fix" it is to not send a reconfiguration packet, which only works if nothing has changed (viaver on proxy does this iirc), and will break in the future once such packet starts to be used. Wrong issue anyway, #39
