General Suggestions

App Home Page Indicator Project App Home so that post-installation, the Admin has a single place to go to find any documentation, help videos, link to the Trailblazer Community, the GitHub repo, and so on. Sample Trailhead Playground "app home" below. app home Sample Indicators Love the existing Sample indicators - I think improving both the "positive" and "negative" sample use cases could help. Also even the "neutral" ones are valuable. Some specific suggestions:

  • adjusting the tooltips/hover text for each indicator to show the criteria for displaying that specific item/icon. Questions to answer: "why am I seeing this indicator?" "is this indicator showing something good, bad, or neutral?" Sometimes the "good/bad" can be intuitive based on the icons used.
  • for the "data is missing" indicators, both adjusting the hover text and the icons so that it is very clear that this is being displayed because of something missing and/or incorrect on the record being displayed. Potentially refer to the SLDS "error" messaging styles for examples and inspiration. acct page

Installation Install process was very straightforward, here is my high-level step by step:

  1. Install w/MetaDeploy into Dev Org
  2. Assign Admin user the "Indicator Setup" Perm Set
  3. Activate the 2 Lightning Record Pages included in the installation - Account and Contact - and make them Org Default (for testing purposes)
  4. Switch to the Sales app and visit any Account or Contact record to see the sample indicators in action!

Adding Your Own Indicators I wasn't quite able to do this - this step felt the most mysterious to me, as I believe it's all Custom Metadata Types. This looks like the area where you're currently building a new UI to "shield" the average admin from this level of complexity and make it simpler for admins to configure these.

Are you willing and interested in being engaged during the development and testing process? You bet!
