Connection Quality of Joycon Causes SteamVR and Driver Crashes

Open ixuan789 opened this issue 1 year ago • 3 comments

Hello, I've found that the Joycon can cause SteamVR to crash. Here are my reproduction:

  • Connecting Joycon before launching SteamVR After successfully entering the SteamVR scene, if the Joycon connection is lost, SteamVR crashes immediately. If the connection quality drops, the tracking frequency of the Index gesture simulation in SteamVR decreases to about 1Hz (the green tracking dots remain unaffected), and a crash occurs after about 1 minute.

  • Connecting Joycon after launching SteamVR Sometimes this causes SteamVR to crash, and sometimes it causes the operating system to become unresponsive. In such cases, simply disconnecting the Joycon restores system responsiveness immediately.

My headset: Oculus Quest 2 (controllers off)

Environment: ALVR / Virtual Desktop / Steam Link / Oculus Link

I would like to know how I can find some logs for the Leap driver to help you investigate this issue?

Can confirm happens on native PCVR With Valve index, Demo video follows:

(sorry for the lossy compression)

I can also confirm that none of the inputs work on the joycons
