[Feature Request]: ui5-toolbar-select "value" property and "label" slot enablement
Feature Request Description
We’ve run into a limitation with the ToolbarSelect component that’s preventing us from delivering the user experience we need in our sap-rich-text-editor. Specifically, we want to show the current font family or font size in the field of the ToolbarSelect, even when that value isn’t part of the predefined options in the dropdown.
Right now, ToolbarSelect doesn’t expose a value property and a label slot to let us control the visible text independently of the options. This means we can’t display a custom selection unless it’s already in the list—unlike the standard ui5-select, which does support this.
Our use case: if a user applies a custom font or size that’s not in the list, we still want to reflect that current value in the field (without polluting the dropdown with temporary or one-off options).
Here is an example of how it looks with sap.m.Select in our sap.ui.richtexteditor:
Would it be possible to support this in the future?
