Feature Request: Quick Replies Functionality in RocketChat
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. Although RocketChat is an impressive tool for team collaboration, I often find myself spending more time than necessary typing lengthy responses to simple inquiries. It would expedite the communication process to have a quick reply option, which, to the extent of my knowledge, is not currently part of the platform's features.
Describe the solution you'd like I propose the addition of a Quick Replies feature. This functionality would be similar to predefined answers in a helpdesk/support context, giving users the option to generate standardised responses. Here's how I envision it:
- Allow users to create and save a list of predefined quick replies.
- These quick replies would be accessible through a simple button or keyboard shortcut.
- Users could thus select a quick reply in lieu of manual text input, save time, and expedite the response process.
Describe alternatives you've considered An alternative could involve using a bot or a custom script that handles quick replies. However, such an approach would not be as efficient or user-friendly and may require additional resources that not everyone has.
Additional context This feature would not only enhance the user experience and make the chat more fluid, it would also reduce the time spent on typing in general, ultimately making RocketChat a more efficient tool for team collaboration.
