Can we an external data source from the users table rather than the AspNsetUsers?

Hello!

I'm working on a POC using AdminUI and I would like to know if ean we an external data source from the users table rather than the AspNsetUsers, e.g. an API endpoint, since the user administration from the organization that I work didn't use the AspNetUsers table
