The Problem

Batch Change detection option not working on reference surfaces

Reproduction steps

I created several reference surfaces. When I right click on the change detection, select batch change detection and choose generic batch change detction it gives me an Insufficient Surfaces error

Exception message

It looks like the check as to whether a batch change detection is viable is incorrectly checking for DEM Surveys and not any type of elevation surface.

Can you try tricking the software... Add two DEMs to your project. They can be any rasters, even the same raster twice! Once you have two (fake) DEMs in your project, you should be able to get past this check. But I confess that I can't recall if the batch change detection works with reference surfaces, so this might only get you to the next problem...

Thank you for the clear post with screenshots.

Great work around! I added another DEM to the project and now the batch change detection works using the reference surfaces.

I'm using this to build an elevation volume curve for a reservoir. You saved me hourse of clicking and waiting.

Cheers!

Glad it worked out! Reservoir analysis was a big driver for the reference surface feature.

Be sure to check out the inter comparison feature that will synthesize all your change detection results into a single spreadsheet.
