D3D12 is not supported in Basic edition

Describe the bug Trying to use DirectX 12 with Unity and I get this message: [AVProMovieCapture] Limitations of Basic Edition reached: • D3D12 is not supported, please switch to D3D11. Aborting capture. Please upgrade to use these feature, or visit 'https://www.renderheads.com/content/docs/AVProMovieCapture/articles/download.html#editions' for more information.

The Store page says that DirectX 12 is supported in the Basic Edition. https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/tools/video/avpro-movie-capture-basic-edition-221916

Setup:

  • Unity version: 2022.2.14 <DX12>
  • AVPro Movie Capture version: 5.1.6
  • Operating system version: Windows 11
  • Capture component used: Realtime
  • Capture settings (resolution, frame-rate, codec): 1080P, defaults

Hi, that doesn't sound right. The Basic edition is Screen Capture only, but should support D3D12. We'll investigate.

Hi Chris/Morris,

If you have beta version of this fix. I can test it out. We are blocked from using D12 because of this.

Nothing yet. We tend to concentrate on bug fixing for one asset at a time, so this will get looked at when we focus our attention back to Movie Capture. We'll keep you updated as we go.

Its on the To Do list. It'll get looked at when our Windows dev is looking at Movie Capture issues.

AVPro Movie Capture version 5.3.2 has been released. Please let us know if it has not fixed your issue.
