v191 randomly lose fan control

Open jt6677 opened this issue 1 year ago • 5 comments

Describe the bug v191, fancontrol runs in background and one of the 'calibrated' fans would randomly speed up while temp doesn't change. Bringing up panel would re-gain the control. I only observe this behavior in 191.

Is there a log.txt file next to FanControl.exe with recent date entries? no error in log.txt

Can confirm this happening to me as well.

Worth to note the plugin-driven fans will not regain control, once this issue happens you can't really get control back and are forced to reboot.

same thing on v189 but way less often. Just lost control. Clicking 'calibrated' would re-gain control.

What kind of motherboard? Asus I'd imagine? Any kind of BIOS control or armory crate kind of software installed?

You can always use "force apply" to force the control back whenever an external command gets sent.

I have z690 gigabyte. I say v189 rarely loses control but v191 does every two hours or so.

@Rem0o Board for me is actually an ASUS but no Armory Crate installed.

Force-Apply does not seem to work with plugins (Corsair) anymore.

It does work with v189 and earlier versions however.

I've also performed a full uninstall+delete of everything but no luck there either, so I'm staying on v189 for now.
