Suggestion: Column missing for SUBTITLE in the BATCH QUEUE
There is missing something in the BATCH QUEUE as for the information.
Remove subtitle tracks and add these:
Missing Critical Column Information in batch queue. The only way to get this is to ADD one by one the video and or to EDIT them one by one. This defeats the purpose of batch queue.
-- Subtitle langage name and index: English 1, French 2 and so on... (This information is already in VIDCoder when importing) -- Subtitle Name; (This information is already in VIDCoder when importing) -- Count of elements in subtitle: This is the number of CARACTERS present in the SUBTITLE langage. In other terms, this will tell if this subtitle is FORCED and or FULL subtitle. -- Type of subtitle: (SRT, PGS, ASS...) Thanx. Regards.
For the "Count of elements in subtitle" are you talking about the number of subtitle lines? I don't think the HandBrake API exposes that.
I could make a tooltip for the subtitle info that could display a more detailed multi-line list, with index, language, format, name for a subtitle on each line.
Well, the information below comes from MEDIAINFO, As you can see the COUNT OF ELEMENTS is 1. This indicates this INDEX ID is really the right FORCED one. I mean, sometimes, people name it FORCED and it's a FULL subtitle. For full subtitle, you will get something such as 400 and more... Unfortunately, with mediainfo, you have to edit in notepad one by one... and it's a long process.
Text ID : 3 Format : UTF-8 Codec ID : S_TEXT/UTF8 Codec ID/Info : UTF-8 Plain Text Duration : 2 s 86 ms Bit rate : 88 b/s Count of elements : 1 Stream size : 23.0 Bytes (0%) Title : ST Forcer Language : French Default : Yes Forced : No
Concerning the TOOLTIP, I don't think this could help much since you wouldn't have a clear view of what's going on let say with a 24 episodes TV SHOW. Below is an example of a third party software that I use but unfortunately, it's not beeing updated since 2012 and I know that HANDBRAKE already gives all these informations. It's only that HB information is all over the place. They need to be output in the batch queue information with columns.
First part:

Second part:

In example upper, it gives me the information that there is NO SUBTITLE for any of the episodes.
Below, an other examples that gives me the information for subtitle with UTF-8 encoding. It tells me that some episodes doesn't have some SUBTITLE with INDEX Id. So I choose DIFFERENT PICKER for this.

All these information are already in the HB, they just have to be shown in the BATCH QUEUE information by choosing the column you want.

This is all of the data that comes back for a scanned subtitle on the HandBrake API:
{
"Attributes": {
"4By3": true,
"Children": false,
"ClosedCaption": false,
"Commentary": false,
"Default": false,
"Forced": false,
"Large": false,
"Letterbox": false,
"Normal": true,
"PanScan": false,
"Wide": false
},
"Format": "bitmap",
"Language": "English (4:3) [VOBSUB]",
"LanguageCode": "eng",
"Source": 0,
"SourceName": "VOBSUB",
"TrackNumber": 1
},
I don't get the count from the HandBrake API. You'd need to ask them to add it.
As for the subtitle information, the basic issue is that you have information about potentially many subtitles that you need to display on a single line. Either you make the column very wide and have a hard time parsing through all the information, or you break all the subtitle data out onto separate lines in another view. If you have separate columns, then you need to scan through a long list on multiple columns and try to figure out which piece of data goes with which. Are you just thinking about when you have picked a single subtitle?
OK, well, I think the TOOLTIP would be awesome then. Do not really need the SUBTITLE ID if I have the NAME OF THE SUBTITLE.
Thanx. Regards.

You can go ahead and close this thread...
You don't want the tooltip?
Sorry my bad. Yes of course but you can put this in your LOW priorities.
Thanx. Regards.

I'm trying to do anime. Is there a way to do a batch scan of anime titles that have japanese audio and english subs. I click one on an edited video and it doesn't apply the setting to the queue. i did a few videos and only the first video had the subtitle options i wanted. Am i missing something?
Hello,
Unfortunately NO, this is why I was asking for this request. When you do TV SHOWS, you need to know wich episodes has wich language and wich subtitles.
This information is already scanned by Vidcoder. Would need only a column to see.
Meanwhile, I am using a third party software called Batch Media info supporter. Unfortunately, it's not being updated since 2013.
https://codecpack.co/download/Batch-Media-Info-Supporter.html Batch Media Info Supporter 1.2 Free Downloadhttps://codecpack.co/download/Batch-Media-Info-Supporter.html Batch Media Info Supporter is a handy reliable tool to batch analyze information from media files.Example of information are codec, bitrate, frames per second, width, height, duration, title, language of subtitles, and name of chapters. codecpack.co
Thanx. Regards.

Ok I was making sure i was reading this correctly. So the main reason i got VidCoder doesn't work like i want it. Time for me to start learning code :D
The programmer of Vidcoder really listens to his clients needs. If 2 people asked for it, he probably will add it.
Thanx. Regards.

Don't go signing me up for anything! I add stuff when I have time and if it seems like a generally useful feature.
I don't think I fully understand your request though. Can you list out the steps taken, what you saw happen and what you expected to happen?
I can tell you that the Picker settings apply only to newly added files.
For me it's applying subtitle settings to all videos in the queue
I'm able to edit the video that is currently up, but there is no way to apply that setting to all videos in the queue below. I want subtitle english 2 burned in/or forced in all the videos and it only takes effect on the video i'm currently editing. There is a subtitle file on all of them brought over from makemkv.
Thanks,
You could remove and re-add with the Picker active. But you are correct, there isn't a way to edit already queued items.
