I use the free tool at https://strm.one/ffmpeg-gui/ to record some hls-type content to my computer in 5-minute chunks. However, ffmpeg hasn't received any updates in about five years, and ffmpeg has seen a lot of innovation since then.

Vidcoder could be a great alternative for recording these types of live streams.

What does this tool do that you are asking to add to VidCoder? Is it that capability to transcode these HLS files?
