Keyboard shortcut support

Open nojux-official opened this issue 1 year ago • 4 comments

Hello,

I would like to suggest adding a support for keyboard shortcuts within app.

This would benefit in these ways:

  • convenience (pressing shortcut is faster than switching windows and pressing button);
  • allows to capture the content that changes too quick;
  • overall boost in productivity.

So, yeah, it would be a nice feature to support keyboard shortcuts.

For my shortcut needs in Linux Mint, I create a custom shortcut in the keyboard manager.

I use the command: flatpak run com.github.rajsolai.textsnatcher to run the program.

I use the command: flatpak run com.github.rajsolai.textsnatcher to run the program.

It would be great if there were a way to trigger the OCR capture directly — skipping the GUI steps like "Snatch Now" → "Take Screenshot" — and simply allowing the user to select an area and copy the recognized text to the clipboard right away.

This would make it perfect for binding to a global keyboard shortcut, making the experience seamless and faster.

Perhaps this behavior could be triggered by passing a command-line argument, like: flatpak run com.github.rajsolai.textsnatcher --screenshot

I am using Normcap. Works great. Find it in github.
