Moving folders

Open alxhlz opened this issue 9 years ago • 13 comments

Hey, i miss the feature to move a folder to another location or move it as sub-folder under another folder.

Hi, is that even possible within the IMAP specification?

It should definitly be possible because it is also possible in many other webmail or desktop clients. :)

Perhaps they just create a new folder, move the messages and then remove the old folder. Something you could do yourself until the feature gets implemented if it gets enough votes at http://rainloop.uservoice.com/ If you did not register the feature request there, please go ahead and do so. This Github page is more for bugs then requests.

It's just a rename not a move

Eg. Inbox.myfolder renamed to inbox.newfolder

Inbox.anotherfolder to inbox.newfolder.anotherfolder

Any chance this will be added? I move folders all the time, depending on if a project or client is active or not.

Thanks, and great job... been using for a few weeks now and enjoying it.

Still using rainloop, but having to open roundcube to change the folder locations to organize my mail every week.

It would be nice to hear back from someone to see if this in the works or not.

Thanks again.

This feature is very standard on all mails clients.. must be added to rainloop too!

Saludos!

Is this really still not a part of Rainloop? This is a very integral part of an email client.

bump.. to the top .. +1

I'd also like to bump this. I think it's a reasonable functionality that any other mail client has and since Rainloop imho is the best of them from a usability point of view, i think it would be a great benefit to provide this functionality. Especially if you're coping with large amounts of mail, it's quite usual to move around folders all the time. I'm a little bit afraid that this will not get enough traction on uservoice since it's somehow an integral part of a mail client and not anything fancy or special..

Anyone minds if I implement this showing a simple dropdown for new parent selection in a dialog just like when you create a folder and submit it as a PR? I have a roughly working prototype but I'm not sure about development standards since I was not able to find any kind of developer documentation on this...

Is someone still working on that?
