Incorrect work codes with the checkbox of autochange
- I had 4 incorrect work codes with auto-change. "This Isn't What The Governmeant" by James Griffin & Robb Royer SAYCO & SAYCE were 951552. I cannot remember the other 2 works
- JUST LIKE YESTERDAY by James Griffin. Apdaycid & SACVEN. It's the final 3 digits that are missing
@name MB: Bulk copy-paste work codes // @version 2022.1.22
It's been a while since I wrote the cleanup code, but I believe those are all "LatinNet" agencies and you'll notice that for a given agency, the last three digits will always be the same for all works, and also the same as the CISAC agency code. E.g. for APDAYC the agency code is "007". These don't appear to be part of the agency's real work code, but rather a suffix that ISWCNet adds to distinguish between LatinNet agencies, or something. It's not uncommon for two LatinNet agencies to use the same code, as in your first example. So the cleanup code removes these suffixes under the assumption that it's ISWCNet tampering with them, for some reason.
I've made a write-up of some investigation I did into these codes last year over in MB's issue tracker. Unfortunately I can't find a publicly-accessible repertoire search for SAYCO or SACVEN, and the SAYCE repertoire search results don't want to load for me, but at least the APDAYC repertoire does not show the "007" suffix in their results:
JUST LIKE YESTERDAY ISWC: T7000335913 Código de Obra: 3523774
which reaffirms my suspicion that it's CISAC ISWCNet adding these suffixes.
If you've got more information on these, feel free to share. I might reach out to some of these agencies and ask them, I don't think I've done that yet.
I'll be sure to do that. I'm done for today working on my music log. Thanks!!
