Client + gateway: improve error handling

Errors are handled in unoptimal way. When request failed we throw generic expection. What we should do is provide explanation what actually happened.

I'm going to postpone this issue in favor of #1270 that I see it more priority. If someone wants to take this in the meantime feel free to do it 😄

We are in a refactor plan so we will review this issue more in-depth. I will close this one in favor of new issues more near to the current status 🙏
