code-d crashes in VS code (snap)

Recently decided to learn D and therefore installed code-d extension in vs code (snap) in Ubuntu 25.04. All seemed well but I was prompted that serve-d was not installed properly and vs code asked to reinstall so I accepted. Then it when starting a workspace it just crashes vs code showing a notification that I ran out of memory. I was looking forward to using this extension but uninstalling it solved vs code from crashing. Any ideas what we can do to fix this?
