highlight not working when using package remote-edit

highlight-selected isn't working when I'm working on a remote downloaded file using the remote-edit package https://github.com/sveale/remote-edit

Ran into this as well. I would highly recommend just mounting the remote server using sshfs. For MacOS, install using brew install sshfs
