YT Shorts show “Video unavailable” when enabling YTUHD
Hello, PoomSmart. I got this issue "Video unavailable. Something went wrong" when watching shorts with YTUHD enabled. This happened only with YT Shorts, not the videos. I also tried removing all the tweaks in YouTube except the YTUHD and installed YTVideoErrorAlert tweak but it didn't show anything when the issue happened. If I remove the YTUHD tweak, the YT Shorts is working normally. I attached a screenshot to describe this issue. My device is iPhone 8, iOS 16.6.1. YouTube version: 20.04.1. YTUHD version: 1.5.9.

What happens if you turn off "VP9 for all" ?
It still has that issue when I turn off "VP9 for all".

No, it occurs in random shorts. Some shorts have this issue before playing, some have it after playing a few seconds. I can't find any specific info about these shorts. It randomly occurs in 1080p premium, 1080p60, 1080p, 720p, etc. quality shorts. Here are some shorts links that have this issue:

Also experiencing crashes on both normal videos and shorts, could be related to ads? Since this really does occur randomly and the shorts listed above doesn't crash my device. Using iPhone 8 Plus 16.7.8, YoutubePlus (YTLite) with YTUHD enabled.
Install YTVideoErrorAlert tweak version 1.0.1 and see if it will alert anything when you are viewing a problematic Shorts.

After installing YTVideoErrorAlert ver 1.0.1 and YTUHD ver 1.5.10, I'm still getting Shorts issue.(iPhone 8 A11, iOS 16.6.1) YTVideoErrorAlert works and alerts 2 errors with and without turning on "VP9 for all":

btw i also have a weird issue which can be related: the video often stop after 5-10s of playing, so i had to reopen the video

Same here. I think the video first tries to run as AVC1/MP4 and then hangs after a few seconds. Closing the video and reopening it makes it play as VP09/WebM.

happens with all videos on my iPhone 14 pro max. Hope they fix it soon

i don't. i also bring to your attention another bug (since we mentioned YouPip), after watching reels you're no longer able to use PiP.
YTUHD
i have a problem when building myself YTUHD. i clone the project, run 'make', i correctly get the dylib file, but when injected i get this. all options are empty. am i missing some steps?

i don't want to bother you (also because this is off-topic), but can you elaborate? if i use a .deb version of the tweak it works just fine

I managed to get it working by doing a make clean package. I tested version 1.6.2 and, while the issue is still present, ~~it’s much less frequent now~~. Sometimes reels just won’t start, and occasionally videos show an error, ~~but overall it’s a lot more stable and usable~~.
Update: Unfortunately, I spoke too soon. There seemed to be some improvements, but with more intensive use of the application, I’m experiencing the same exact issues as before, maybe with a little less frequency but i'm not sure about that. i can't find a reason, even if "VP9 for all" is disabled videos in low quality still experience this issue. the only solution is to disable VP9.
