English Language index is different.

For most of the starting pokemons, the flavor_text language is English for the index 0.

pokemon-species/80/flavor_text_entries/0/flavor_text will always be in English.

But for pokemon IDs like 800, en flavor_text is at index 7.

If English flavor_text is always at index 0, it would not require a lengthy search to first find the the english text and then display it.

The problem is that you are in an array. So we cannot guarantee any order.

Wouldn't it be possible to change it to a map with the language as a key?

I guess it would be possible but won't be implemented this way.
