(URGENT) Crashing on launching a windows build, error logs isn't helpful. (Tested on multiple Unity Editor versions and Empty Fresh Projects) Has anyone tested just building a fresh project with the SDK and SDK sample scenes?

Describe the bug After successfully building a windows build, attempting to launch the build via the exe is impossible as the app crashes immediately. This is also tested on a freshly created project with nothing but the plugin installed. Tried building the P2P sample scene. And yes this fresh new project was configured using the instructions here: https://github.com/PlayEveryWare/eos_plugin_for_unity/blob/stable/docs/configure_plugin.md

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Install the plugin via the tar in the package manager.
  2. Load sample scenes.
  3. Add P2P scene into build settings.
  4. Build for Windows Platform.

Expected behavior Launch the game without crashing.

Are you able to find a log_level_config.json in your build? Try putting this json file in the StreamingAssets folder.

Hello guys, I am also getting a crash, maybe its related. I was using the 3.2.1 and it was working fine, now I did a win build with the latest build and its crashing just after I click to open the game build.

Confirmed, 3.2.1 is working... same project, same everything, the 3.3 crashes, and the 3.2.1 works. I do not know if its related, but I am using the Singletons in the Samples folder, in both versions:

After adding that json file to a freshly created Project with nothing but this SDK and the sample scenes, to the following location, Assets/StreamingAssets/EOS/, the Crash on a Windows Build no longer happens. I will now proceed to try on my existing projects to further confirm that it fixes the issue and report back.

May I check how did you find out that the issue was caused by the log_level_config.json? In my crash logs above, nothing seemed to be indicating a missing file in streaming assets. (This is so that I can better understand how to identify the issue and troubleshoot it if it occurs again) The crash logs did not really aid in my investigations. Thanks.

Upon further tests, I can confirm it works in both my existing projects and a clean project with just the SDK included. However the error still occurs when the EOS SDK is not configured (Tools > EOS Plugin > Dev Portal Configuration), hence if the user does not follow the steps below, the same crash error will appear even if the log_level_config.json file is in StreamingAssets/EOS/ folder. Once it is configured the issue is resolved, hence do you devs think it would help (though not as important as the main issue) if there's a more descriptive error log for this on top of the initial missing json file issue?https://github.com/PlayEveryWare/eos_plugin_for_unity/blob/stable/docs/configure_plugin.md

Additionally, as mentioned in my post above, do you mind sharing some tips on how you've managed to figure out that the missing json file was the cause of this issue?

@arthur740212 This change broke functionality for titles loading their config from dll or by partially overriding EOSmanager (for security). Leaving the config screen empty worked with no issue before, now it crashes with this message. Still works correctly on consoles.

Please disregard that, the issue was Unity related. The meta file for the dll stopped working for some reason, and the dll stopped getting included correctly in builds. It started crashing like in OPs case because without dll it would try to load an actual config file. The meta file only started working correctly after it was deleted.

Hello. A release will happen this week and should solve the issues with log level config not existing. After the release the log level will be using default values if the config isn't there.
