Pixel 8 Pro (Android 16 QPR2 beta 1) app constantly stopping

Open kayslay177 opened this issue 5 months ago • 8 comments

Build is BP41.250725.006

Wavelet version is 25.07 (beta)

All permissions set (DUMP set, notification access set), background usage set to Unrestricted.

Headphones are Sony WH-1000XM5

App constantly will stop working, toggling it off and on makes it work again but 5 minutes later it stops again. Seemingly started when updating to latest beta, any help would be great

I am on the same Android version, QPR 2 Beta 1 on a pixel 9 pro.

I have sony WFXM4s.

I have the same issue. It occurs when I unlock my device.

Music will be playing fine with the phone locked and screen off. I will unlock my device and wavelet stops working and audio quality drops immediately. If I go into wavelet and toggle it off, there is no difference in audio quality since it's already not in effect anymore. Toggling it on, it comes back and audio quality improves again.

Yup I have the exact same thing. Tried turning on AIDL mode which does help but the quality isn't the same as it is without AIDL mode. I've tried everything I can think of and nothing helps

Yes, you definitely need to have AIDL mode on. I believe he introduced AIDL mode as a fix to an issue that stated with android 16 betas.

Yeh it's just weird it was fine until the newest beta, I wonder what was changed, as well as why it sounds quite different than without AIDL mode. Would love a fix that keeps the sound the same

Actually I noticed that if I am listening to music and actively using my phone (so screen is on), wavelet will just randomly stop working (I noticeable audio quality changes for the worse). I can go into Wavelet, toggle it off (no effect since it's already off), then toggle it back on (audio quality improves again). It will randomly toggle itself off again soon after. I did not time it, so I don't know if its on a pattern or set time length before it turns off again.

Yes I've noticed the same, was seeing yesterday what exactly is making things suddenly turn off and I honestly can't pinpoint it now. I thought it was working fine in my pocket/when not being used, but that's not always the case. And when I'm actively using it it sometimes happens too. The thing I REALLY don't understand is some days it will work well the entire time I'm playing music (let's say, two hours) and the next day I'll have to stop/restart wavelet every 5 minutes

Hopefully next update gives a fix

It's a bug in this Android version, not in Wavelet. Please star this issue if you want to help: https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/444642016

Done, thanks for the response (and the app!)
