Yeah too bad there doesn't really seem to be a way to clearly tell what is what since macOS doesn't report the source of the encoder.

Or better yet, show the album art as the icon and maybe as the name show the track being played

This may be related to the way AirPlay works with iTunes/Music app. I think the way it works is the device (in this case, HomePod mini) pulls the song directly...

MacBook Pro 11,3, macOS 11.5 (GM as of writing this comment, soon official release), eGFX Breakaway Box 550 w/RX 5700 XT, FileVault, and SIP are disabled.

I should add that this issue seems to be also present in Windows, if I restart to Windows in clamshell mode, the fans ramp up and sometimes my keyboard's lights...
