Some feature suggestions

Open BradyThe opened this issue 1 year ago • 4 comments

  • Auto-play Off (Videoplayer - jump to next suggested video) (I use temporary containers to keep my history and suggestions clean, having to switch this setting every time is annoying.)
  • Ambient mode Off (Videoplayer settings - I remember having performance issues with the mode, which seem to be resolved for me, but this option still might be interesting)
  • Autoplay for Livestream (superseding Autoplay for Video setting)
  • Switch to Live Chat (instead Top Chat) in livestream
  • Click on collapsed description box expands it, add option to click on expanded description box to collapse it (possible problem: interacting with links or text (marking) might trigger a collapse) (Some descriptions contain half of book of content, having to scroll a mile to just close the description is annoying.)

Sorry for the delay in posting updates to the extension, there are a few fixes that are sure in need to be pushed. As for the features, some of those are interesting (definitely the ambient mode control and auto play next as well).

Don't worry, presumably you are doing this for free in your spare time. It would be foolish to expect 24/7 Platinum support, even if the addon would be in a non-working condition, which it is not for me.

Sorry, @BradyThe , the play next video control I already got working, but the way I went about it could be better, I think I will try to make it into a "memorize" type of setting which will reinforce whichever the last setting the user changed to on the player, just in case the user wants to turn it on again and the extension does not force it back.

I want to ship a new build today with recent fixes, so that feature will miss that release, likely will be out in the next one.

That's fine. It was a silly suggestion. YouTube remembers the choice and only activates it as default in certain cases, for example a new container, which probably only affects a handful of people (most likely just me) and can be turned off with a single click.
