[REQUEST] Novel Source and Reader support
Description A clear description of the feature
The ability to have novel sources and read them in app, works the same as manga more or less but text instead of images
How would it improve the App? How would the feature improve the app?
For those that want this it would just allow for reading in one app, as a lot of Manhua etc are based on novels
Additional context Add any other context or screenshots about the feature request here.
To be honest this is more to get a clear cut answer if this was ever part of the plan for the app at all as I was lead to believe it was but don't see any indications to that effect
I really hope that it lies in the future as the non explicit name makes me hope there is openness to this possibility
I highly doubt a novel reader will be added because a manga reader and novel reader have different dynamics. The two readers are nothing alike.
Actually something that would only download chapters from sources and used Safari webview (while toggling it's reader view automatically) would not only be feasable - but also preferable. It could just have window outline’s for back/next chapter and otherwise use Safari’s webview.
Safari’s reader view is very mature, it’s just keeping the reading list & reading offline is the problem. Not to mention how all the novel sites don’t work that great on mobile, switching chapters is a chore. Similarly to how poorly manga sites work on mobile.
There are some good novel apps on Android, some loosly based on Tachyiomi so maybe even copying their sources might be possible (well probably not)
