[Suggestion] Borrow some ideas from the "linear" format

There are some interesting ideas used in the linear format. For example getting rid of the 4096 bytes file padding or getting rid of mcc files, etc.

If you're interested in this, there are Paper and Folia implementations using this format and some conversion tools as well.
