[Feature Request] Add Face Recognition Events to SwitchBot API for Home Assistant
Current Situation
Hi SwitchBot Team 👋
I am an active Home Assistant user. The Home Assistant community is huge and growing rapidly – with millions of users worldwide.
Most of us make buying decisions strongly based on Home Assistant compatibility.
Adding more detailed events and sensors for SwitchBot devices would not only improve the user experience but also make SwitchBot one of the top recommended ecosystems in the HA community.
I am happy to support with testing or additional feedback. Please feel free to reach out to me anytime if you have questions.
Requested feature
- When a face is recognized, expose the person’s ID or name (if available).
- Make this available via API → so Home Assistant can trigger person-based automations.
Example use cases
- If Daniel unlocks the door → turn on lights in his room.
- If a guest unlocks → trigger a notification.
Benefit
This feature would allow highly personalized and secure automations.
The HA community would immediately use and promote this.
