I am converting this PR to draft since I need to create the missing page. I will make them available in separate commit.
This is the first PR to revamp and update the website. This PR is mostly on content that should require little consensus as explained here.
This PR contains edits to the following pages
- reorganization of the community page to list the different types of contributions and link to our communication channel
- creation of the following page
- OpenRefine history
- OpenRefine usage
- OpenRefine ecosystem
Graphics are generated directly in markdown using Mermaid #294
The content of the page is up for discussion. If you think we are missing some important item or should skip something, I'm happy to discuss it. I would appreciate a review of the copywriting. Propositions to improve the tone or style are more than welcome.
@thadguidry @Ainali @tfmorris @wetneb @Abbe98 I'd love to have a second read on the copy and how the new website is structured before I continue working on the contributor guide. Feel free to ping other contributor you think can help reviewing. Thank you
Thank you for the review, @tfmorris. If it is easier to review, I can break things into smaller PRs (one per page, maybe).
I don't think the project's primary core value is about funding. I see funding as a way to support the project. Next month, we will start the mission-vision project (more on this next week), so we can take the time to agree on what the core value of the project is.
@tfmorris @wetneb I made a round of edit based on the latest feedback and moved the ecosystem map to a new branch. Hopefull this is now good to be merged.
I will merge this PR on Monday, April 29, leaving time for others to chime in.
